Maxblackrabbit

  • Maxblackrabbit was born in Newfoundland, His parents were both artistic in their own right, so one would conclude that is where he got his talent. But it was the comics and cartoons that got him started on this path. That and a childhood rivalry (no, really) which pushed him to follow the road of artistic tomfoolery. Later in life, he met up with another artist that started him down another path, something more mainstream and serious. While doing that, fell a little into Anime circles and while enjoying that, finally fell into the genre that brings him here today.
  • 1996 was the year of his first convention and ever since then has met up with some of the most kind and expressive people. He has travelled Thousands of miles, crossed land and sea meeting people of every race and colour, richer and poorer. Has had undeserving praise and a little scorn and has made a friend no matter where he goes. This is one lucky bunny and he would like to Thank you by sharing his art and his talent with you at the first 'WhatTheFur'Convention in Montreal in 2010.

Kalika Tybera

  • A native of Montreal, she has been enticed to return to her home and native land from the faraway place of Vermont, where she lives with her husband and two cats (or is that two cats and her husband?) She is a traditional media who is now working as a fulltime commission artist within the fandom and loves doing what she does. In her free time outside of the art world Kalika is a big fan of the horror genre and boasts a sizeable horror movie collection, is avidly interested in all things paranormal, enjoys videogames and loves reading about a variety of topics such as art, animals, crypto-zoology, fashion design and design in general.

Demicoeur

Demicoeur (Demi for short) is a 23-year-old art student studying animation at Sheridan College. She started drawing with crayons as a kid and felt even at the tender age of four that the lack of flesh coloured crayons in her Crayola set was very discouraging, because everyone you draw looks sickly when you colour them orange or yellow or red. So she just drew animals instead of people and that solved all her woes. Around two years ago she was introduced to the furry fandom and found a lot of encouragement to both improve her artwork and take part in the community. What the Fur will be her second convention and she's really excited to meet everyone and start drawing some zombies!
It is worth noting - since the convention takes place in a French speaking city - that Demicoeur cannot pronounce her own name.
Demi loves reading, trying new recipes from all the cooking blogs she stalks, and Disney movies (which she sings along to very poorly). She shares her house with a fish named Vader and a cat named Skitch.
You can see some of the wonderful artwork at her FurAffinity account, however be warned: there are adult works, and may not be suitable for viewers of all ages.
Karine Charlebois
  • Karine Charlebois , also known as Kanthara, has been drawing since she could hold a crayon. When she learned that cartoons weren't exactly made by elves in Japan and California, she found her way into the Montreal animation industry. She's worked mostly in storyboarding for both TV and video games, and at some point decided to try her hand at comics, first landing a few gigs with an educational publishing house and producing a graphic novel for them. A well known artist in the Gargoyles fandom, she got the opportunity to draw both for the main series and the Gargoyles: Bad Guys spinoff, published by SLG.
  • She currently juggles working from home on storyboards for different shows, raising two young boys with her husband, and trying to make her obese, geriatric cat lose some weight, with a certain measure of success.
  • Karine also holds a

HollyAnn
  • HollyAnn is a native of Ottawa, Ontario.  She's been drawing ever since she could hold a pencil; as a little girl, kitty cats, unicorns and Snoopy were among her favourite inspirations and would often make her own picture books. Mostly self-taught, she studied various cartoon shows over the years (Animaniacs, TMNT, Gargoyles), learning various things such as facial expressions or various poses by pausing the VCR and drawing them out.
  • She discovered the furry fandom through Furcadia in 1997, where she became known as the purple and yellow vixen everyone knows in the fandom today.  When not involved in furry, Holly enjoys crocheting, tatting, baking and decorating cakes and cupcakes, painting, and loves creating colouring/activity books for children.
  • HollyAnn is also an active member in the Society for Creative  Anachronism, where she is an illuminator for the East Kingdom and also enjoys archery, period cooking, tablet weaving, and pewter crafting.  Holly is happily married to her husband Trinsic, and lives in beautiful Vermont with their dog, Bella, where she continues doing art projects fulltime.

Ookami Kemono

  • Ookami Kemono, also known as Alex Cockburn, was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. Having two parents who specialize in the art field, Ookami spent most to all of his time drawing instead of doing his homework. Mostly self-taught with the pencil and ink techniques, he studied the basics of drawing anatomy from watching various cartoons and reading Japanese Mangas. His illustrations soon reached numerous published children's books, CD covers, television, and game magazines. Later he found a talent for animation, both stop motion and cell animation. He soon graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a Bachelor in Fine Arts. Soon after, he published his first furry graphic novel, "Concealment" and now has a web comic called "Lucid's Dream".
  • Ookami found the furry fandom via various artists and admirers both at school and online. He mostly illustrates and writes narrative stories of real life situations, both inspired from his own life and others around him, that reaches a world wide audience, both on and offline. His unique images focus on the hardships of life and relations, questioning topics in the furry fandom, to the joy of being in love and having friends. His main goal is to help people in the fandom by drawing and writing stories about public or personal issues, telling everyone that they are not alone and that there is always a small ray of hope in the vast void of darkness and depression. His artwork became so inspired to others that people wrote to him saying that his artwork saved and changed their lives around. Ookami also shares his talent and donates numerous illustrations to various furry conventions. His artistic curse, a developing cute style, soon became known as the style of "D'AWWWWW!" to thousands.
  • Whenever Ookami doesn't draw, he plays numerous video games, goes out for long walks, watches movies or hangs out with friends. He is now trying to become a citizen of Quebec, Canada and share his life with his beloved Valerie (Soryane) and her daughter Florence. Learning the language is another story…
